FXX is keeping its standing date with Man Seeking Woman.
The cable network has renewed the Jay Baruchel comedy for a third season of 10 episodes, set to debut in 2017, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The high-concept comedy revolves around Josh Greenberg (Baruchel) as he goes through the ups and downs of dating. From creator Simon Rich, the show's recently completed sophomore run marked a 2 percent increase among total viewers when factoring in seven days of delayed viewing (299,000 vs. 393,000 total viewers). Jonathan Krisel, Andrew Singer, Ian Maxtone-Graham and Lorne Michaels exec produce the comedy, which hails from Broadway Video and FX Productions. Eric Andre and Britt Lower co-star.

"Man Seeking Woman had another great season this year and continues to offer one of the smartest and funniest takes on dating and relationships on TV today,” FX original programming president Nick Grad said. “We are excited to move forward on a third season of Man Seeking Woman with Simon, Jonathan, Andrew, Ian and Lorne, and thank Jay, Eric and Britt for keeping the show so enjoyable.”
While not a massive ratings draw, the series continues to generate strong reviews. That's one of the hallmarks of FX topper John Landgraf's "formula" for a renewal: critics, viewers and the network each get a vote — with a two-thirds vote the key to a renewal.
Man Seeking Woman is part of a comedy lineup at FXX that also includes It's Always Sunny in Philadelphiaand You're the Worst, as well as repeats of The Simpsons, In Living Color and Parks and Recreation, among others.
