Late 2013, OnePlus, a new Chinese phone maker, was seeing the light of day by Pete Lau, previously Vice President at OPPO. About half an year later, OnePlus were releasing their first smartphone called One, a smartphone that received a lot of plaudits from both tech enthusiasts and tech publications.
Now, a new series of rumors regarding the OnePlus One follow-up have surfaced online. Since both Xiaomiand Meizu already unveiled some interesting terminals, we are eager to see what OnePlus have prepared for us in 2015.
Previous rumors have suggested that OnePlus Two might arrive with a smaller display, but a new report coming from GizChina is suggesting that OnePlus is aiming to keep the same size for the screen. Anyway, even though Two might arrive with a 5.5-inch screen, its body could be more compact than the one of its predecessor. The same publication writes that OnePlus Two could get an upgrade in terms of screen resolution, making the jump from Full HD (1080 x 1920) to Quad HD (1440 x 2560). The handset will reportedly integrate a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a 3,300 mAh battery, making it one of the most powerful smartphones around.
We also hear that Two will come pre-loaded with a new ROM developed by OnePlus, in order to compensate for the problems the Chinese company had after it teamed-up with Cyanogen. The new software will be based on Android 5.0, while rumors say the smartphone will have a price tag of around $430. If the information is proved to be accurate, Two would be more expensive than its predecessor, but still a lot more cheaper than similarly-speced flagships coming from the big players of the smartphone market. We are expecting OnePlus Two to arrive in the second or third quarter of the year and, hopefully, the Chinese company got rid of the invite-only sell strategy.
